What do you like most about your major?

I love the community of people I have met in Computer Science. The faculty, advisors and fellow students are all so supportive of one another. I would not have been able to get through some of these difficult courses without the constant support from everyone I have met. I also love that this is such a growing and changing field. There is always something new to learn which is inspiring and exciting as I head into a career.

What do you love most about UD?

I love the opportunities I have at UD. I have been informed of so many opportunities such as organizations and clubs to join, career fairs, professional workshops, service work and more. There is always something new to do.

Favorite class at UD and why?

My favorite class at UD has been CPS 352 or Programming Languages. I love my professor's teaching style, and I am excited to be learning Python. I know how applicable it is and the way Dr. Shen approaches the topic is extremely helpful in understanding.

What piece of your academic journey has most prepared you to begin a career after graduation?

I had an internship this summer as a Network Engineer for Excellus BCBS in Upstate N.Y., and I feel my internship, along with my professional experience at UD, has really prepared me for a career after graduation. UD provides so many opportunities for resume review, career advising and so much more. Using the skills at my internship that UD provided me with was super rewarding and reassuring.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • Society of Women Engineers
  • Association for Computing Machinery
  • Academic Affairs Committee for the College of Arts and Sciences

Why did you choose UD?

I was really unsure about moving too far from home for college, but as soon as I toured UD I was so impressed by the campus environment, program I would enter and overall tour. I fell in love with the student neighborhood and knew that living on campus all four years was such a rare (but amazing) thing to find at a university.
