What do you like most about your major?

The Human Rights Studies program is truly exceptional because of the individualized support, care and opportunities given to each student within the program. Within my major, I am seen and known. By having a personal relationship with my advisor, and by being supported by the HRS program as a whole, I’ve been able to dig deeper into my passions and values, explore different career paths and fields of study and create a personalized, practical course of action that has, and will continue to, allow me to achieve far and beyond what I once envisioned possible.

What do you love most about UD?

The welcoming atmosphere at UD is so special and it is because of the genuine, kind and down to earth people who attend this University. UD is a place where everyone holds the door for you. I believe we are ranked among the nation’s happiest students, which I can attest to.

Favorite class at UD and why?

Religion and Human Rights (REL 261) is currently my favorite class I have taken at UD because of the dialogue around theories of and activism for human rights, specifically surrounding migration. Learning and discussing, in depth, the plight of refugees and asylum seekers in a human rights context has played an integral part in my aspiration toward being an immigration lawyer.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • Phi Alpha Delta (Pre-Law fraternity)
  • Big Brother Big Sister Youth Mentor
  • UD Bigs Club Marketing Chair
  • Supplemental Instruction Leader (PHL 103)
  • Write Place Writing Consultant
  • Outdoor Adventure Club

Why did you choose UD?

I chose UD because when I stepped foot on campus, I felt that I belonged. I felt at home here. I found that the University was perfect for me in many ways, notably because of the size. I benefit from my small class sizes, yet also thrive having a large variety of opportunities and people to meet.
