What do you like most about your major?

Math allows us to understand the strangest parts of the world in the most general terms, which makes it just endlessly beautiful.

What do you love most about UD?

I love my professors.

Have you ever studied abroad? If so, where and what did you learn most from that experience?

Yes, I learned that I did not understand what culture is because I had never been immersed in another one so completely. It really does permeate all aspects of life and our sensibilities about the world.

Have you ever participated in faculty-mentored research? If so, what did you learn from that experience?

Yes, I learned about philosophy and music, and that I love research.

Favorite class at UD and why?

That's hard. I would probably have to say Discrete Math because that was my first proof-based math class and I had such a wonderful professor.

What piece of your academic journey has most prepared you to begin a career after graduation?

Being a T.A. as an undergraduate in the Department of Mathematics has just been instrumental in helping me find out I love teaching math and giving me space to get better at it.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • UD Math Club (president)

Why did you choose UD?

It's super well rounded, which, as someone who was not sure at all what I wanted to study or do, was very important. Now, I have three majors in three distinct disciplines.

Is there anything else about your UD experience you think prospective students and their families should know?

UD has so many opportunities to let you make your college experience to be what you want. There are plenty of clubs to join, hard classes to take, on-campus jobs to work and professors willing to do research with you. If you come to UD, you will be able to find your place.
