What do you like most about your major?

I love how environmental biology prompts you to question and appreciate the natural world around you.

What do you love most about UD?

I love how the small classes allows you to build better relationships with your professors and with your peers. It leads to better friendships and opportunities.

Have you ever participated in faculty-mentored research? If so, what did you learn from that experience?

From working in research, I learned a lot of new scientific techniques and the equipment needed to use them as well as the patience required when working with live animals.

Favorite class at UD and why?

My favorite class was Ecology because it covers a great range of biology concepts and the field lab is really fun and you get to learn a lot of new field skills.

What piece of your academic journey has you most prepared to begin a career after graduation?

I have two experiences that have really me. The first is the summer between my freshman and sophomore years where I got to do research through a summer fellowship in the Hellmann Lab. The second was between my sophomore and junior year where I completed my Research Experience for Undergrads on Fish Ecology on Ohio State’s island campus in Lake Erie.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • WISE

Why did you choose UD?

I liked the idea of smaller class sizes, and I thought all the different housing opportunities would be really fun.
