Profile

Lafayette Mitchell is married to Shurdina L. Mitchell of Cincinnati. Lafayette and Shurdina share six children, Taquia, Justin (Talia), Aarron, Aleia, Blake and Lance; and five grandchildren, Justin Jr, Anna, Kameron, Ariel and Adrian.

Lafayette was born and raised in Cincinnati in the South Cumminsiville Area. He graduated in 1992 from Western Hills High School. He has obtained an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from Mid-America College of Funeral Services in 2018 and has received a Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service Management also from Mid-America College of funeral Services in 2023. Lafayette is a License Funeral Director and License Embalmer for the state of Kentucky. 

Lafayette is also a Decorated Retired Army Veteran with 24 years of honorable service and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. SFC Mitchell served as a Logician as an Unit Armorer, Unit Supply, Unit Supply Sergeant, Battalion S-4, Property Book NCO. He served as a recruiter and a Retention NCO. He was the Lead Sr. Supply Tech for the CST Warehouse at Fort Knox, Ky., and he now serves as the Supply Tech for the University of Dayton.

Lafayette is a Licensed and Ordained Ministry of the Gospel. He was ordained in 2005 by the Sign of The Dove Church Radcliff Kentucky under the tutelage of Pastor Edward L. Palmer Jr. with a strong sense in Pastoral Care. Pastor Mitchell has served in an array of ministry activities, from event photographer, service planner and recording, sound man, setup and tear down of park ministries activities as well as Pastor of Several Church Departments.      

Pastor Mitchell is currently part of the ministry team of Word of Deliverance Church in Cincinnati.
