Holistic Academic Advising

As a Catholic, Marianist institution, the University of Dayton takes a holistic approach to advising. Following that philosophy, the College of Arts and Sciences advising team provides support to students throughout their academic careers at the University of Dayton.

From speaking with students about academic interests, promoting connections with faculty, major or minor exploration, class schedules, study habits and more, an advisor serves as a point person to assist students in completing university and degree requirements from a student's first semester through their final semester at UD.

Double Majors

Personalize your academic journey to support your goals and interests. Choose one major before you arrive at the University of Dayton. Once you are here and engaged in first semester classes, you may begin conversations with your advisor regarding the opportunity to pursue your other interests.

You may choose majors from within the College of Arts and Sciences, or within our professional schools with proper advising and meeting the specific requirements to enter those majors.

Minors

Minors allow you to tailor your academic path to support your unique interests and goals. The College of Arts and Sciences offers a variety of minors from virtually all areas offered at the university.

The University of Dayton Bachelor's Plus Master's Program encourages high-performing UD undergraduate students to continue their studies and complete a Master's Degree.
