Jayilin Barksdale

Jayilin Barksdale is a Holistic Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences, supporting Humanities and Visual and Performing Arts students. She is a recent University of Dayton graduate who holds a B.A. in Communication and a M.S. Ed. in School Counseling, both from UD. She is an alumna of the third cohort of Flyer Promise Scholars.

Jayilin's background in both primary and post-secondary student counsel and support drives her passion for guiding students through transitional periods and empowering them to build resilience and agency.

She was born and raised in the Dayton area. In her free time, Jayilin enjoys going to the movies, hiking, listening to new music, and spending time with friends and family.
