3+3 J.D. Program

For undergraduate students pursuing any Bachelor of Arts degree, the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Law offers a 3+3 J.D. program, allowing students to complete their Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor in a total of 6 years.

Common Degree Tracks

Please consult with your advisor for eligibility and timeline as you are scheduling your third-semester coursework. While some programs offer both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree, only the Bachelor of Arts degree is eligible for the 3+3 J.D. program.

Save Time and Money

As part of the 3+3 J.D., students will have the opportunity to take first-year law classes during their final year of undergraduate studies. Those first-year law classes will count toward finishing your college undergraduate degree and also toward the completion of your law degree.

When you begin taking classes at the School of Law, you will pay the J.D. tuition rate instead of the tuition for your undergraduate degree. Enrolled students will be notified by the School of Law about a scholarship award towards the J.D. program.

Next Steps for Current Students

Current students interested in pursuing the 3+3 J.D. should talk with their academic advisor.

Next Steps for New Flyers

Upon enrollment at UD, you will share your interest with your holistic academic advisor who will assist you in registering for classes in your first year that keep you on track.

Admission to UD School of Law is contingent on your undergraduate GPA and a Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score higher than the UDSL median for the year of conditional admission.
