Bachelor of Science

A degree in statistics from UD prepares you for a wide variety of careers in data science, business analytics, finance, healthcare, government and technology. Through a curriculum focused on statistical theory, applied statistics and data analytics, you'll develop essential skills in data management, statistical modeling and computational tools.

Program Overview

Why Study Statistics at UD?

Students gain hands-on experience with leading data analysis software, such as R, SAS and Python and learn how to leverage AI to enhance their workflow without becoming overly reliant on these technologies.

Small class sizes promote personalized instruction, fostering teamwork and independent problem-solving, key skills for success in the modern landscape of data analysis and AI utilization.

All majors complete an individual capstone project under the direction of a faculty member. Students have opportunities to engage in undergraduate research through UD-funded summer fellowships. If you are interested in research, we encourage you to also pursue summer research opportunities through the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.
