The RecPlex is located at 2 Evanston Ave., Dayton OH 45409.

Parking

All vehicles parked on University of Dayton property must display a valid UD parking permit or visitor permit during these times:

  • Monday through Thursday: 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Permits are not required outside these hours, as long as you park in a visitor space or in a single letter lot (e.g., Lot A, Lot B, Lot C, etc.).

You must purchase a permit if you park on campus for more than two consecutive weeks, or more than three times per month. 

Campus Recreation members are eligible to purchase S2 parking permits on a monthly basis, which allows access to S2 lot any time and C lot after 4 p.m. weekdays and all weekend.

Campus Recreation is NOT responsible for parking violations. Parking pass fees are NOT included in the price of membership. Prices are subject to change without notice.


Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to use the RecPlex?

Anyone is eligible to use the RecPlex with a UD Campus Recreation membership .

What if I forgot my ID/membership card?

Members of the RecPlex must present a valid University ID or Campus Recreation membership card. If you fail to present the proper identification, you may retrieve your ID or pay a $10 daily fee.

Are trial memberships offered?

Faculty, staff, alumni, part-time students, graduate students and law students who present a valid University ID may use the RecPlex for a daily fee of $10. 

Are children allowed in the facilities?

Members may purchase memberships for their children. Child memberships may require additional documentation. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children younger than 16 are not allowed in the second-floor fitness center or any fitness studio. 

Are members allowed to bring a guest?

Current UD Campus Recreation members are allowed to sponsor two guests per day for a guest fee of $10 per guest. The eligible sponsor must be present with their guest at all times and must "sponsor" the guest as the guest enters the facility.

All guests are required to present a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID, or school ID) to enter the facility, along with payment. Guests and members must complete the guest waiver and sponsorship form at the welcome desk.

Members of the RecPlex are responsible for the actions of their guests at all times.


Guidelines and Policies

UD Campus Recreation has established the following policies to provide an efficient operation of our facilities and programs, as well as for the health and safety of all participants.

General Guidelines

General UD Campus Recreation guidelines listed below are in effect at all times and expected to be adhered to by all patrons (members and guests).  Rules for specific activity areas are posted on site.  Failure to comply with any policy, guidelines, or rules may result in removal from the facility and termination of membership.  Patrons who are suspended will not have any portion of their fees refunded.

  • All members must present a valid UD ID card or a Campus Recreation membership card upon entry.  Upon request, a valid ID or guest pass must be presented to staff.  Campus Recreation reserves the right to refuse admittance.  Additionally, IDs used to gain illegal entrance into the RecPlex will be confiscated.
  • Entry to and exit from the facility must be through controlled access points only. Other exits should only be used for emergencies.
  • Membership privileges may be revoked or suspended for policy violation at any time.
  • Falsification or misrepresentation of information, membership eligibility, etc. will result in forfeiture of membership or program registration.
  • A $10 replacement fee is assessed for lost membership cards.
  • Priority usage is designated for UD students and Campus Recreation members during normal operating hours.
  • Sunflower seeds, gum, tobacco, alcohol, drugs or other banned substances are strictly prohibited in the facility. Only water and sport drinks, in re-sealable plastic containers, are permitted. 
  • Food and other beverages are only permitted in the first floor lounge area located by the juice bar.
  • Proper attire including closed toe, athletic shoes and t-shirts or tanks that cover the torso, midriff, and rib cage are required. Five Finger, or similar shoes, are permissible as long as the entire foot is covered. Clothing with exposed rivets, buttons, zippers, or other metal parts are not permitted. 
  • Disruptive or foul language, harassment, and fighting are not permitted.  All policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct will be enforced.
  • Bicycles, rollerblades and skateboards of any style are prohibited from being used inside the RecPlex. Additionally, flammable items, glass products, marking tape, sharp objects and pets are strictly prohibited.
  • Strollers are allowed on the first floor only, to include the locker room and pool deck, however the stroller must remain in a locked position or under the control of the individual at all times.
  • Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Personal belongings not being used or worn (i.e. book bags, sweatshirts, jackets, etc.) must be kept out of activity areas.  It is recommended that you use a cubby or locker for storage.
  • Disorderly conduct, abuse, or misuse of the facility, equipment, staff, or disregard for policies will not be tolerated. Violators will be required to leave the facility and may be subject to disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from the facilities and programs. Participants who are suspended will not have any portion of their fees refunded.
  • Campus Recreation equipment that is lost, damaged or not returned by the close of business will be charged to the individual to which the RecPlex issued the equipment. Additionally, abusive use or misuse of equipment will not be tolerated. Users may be charged retail replacement cost for damaged equipment.
  • Campus Recreation may not be used for solicitation, private classes, personal training or any other activity associated with personal gain. Additionally, use of copyright material such as P90X, Insanity or other similar commercial programs is prohibited from being utilized in Campus Recreation facilities.
  • Flyers and other promotional material must be approved and distributed by Campus Recreation administrative staff.
  • Photography is permitted in UD Campus Recreation facilities for personal non-commercial and lawful use provided permission has been granted by individual(s) being photographed.  The taking, capturing, or recording of any and all photography, audio or video of any kind in the pool, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and restrooms is strictly prohibited.
  • Those who seek to photograph, film, or interview individuals at UD Campus Recreation facilities for commercial use, media use, or class projects, must receive prior written approval from UD Campus Recreation administration prior to accessing UD Campus Recreation facilities.

Statement of Participant Expectations

To help our patrons enjoy a safe and positive experience, we request that all patrons acknowledge and abide by University of Dayton and Department of Campus Recreation rules, policies and guidelines. Participation, membership and use of UD Campus Recreation programs, services and facilities are a privilege, which comes with responsibilities.

It is expected that:

  • Participants model acceptable social behavior and contribute to a positive community in the spirit of our Marianist and Catholic traditions.
  • Participants read, understand and abide by all UD Campus Recreation policies and procedures.
  • Participants are considerate to other participants, as well as UD Campus Recreation employees, and respect their individual rights.
  • Participants take responsibility for personal and community security.
  • Participants recognize that the facilities are used by many people and abuse of those areas violates the rights of others.
  • Participants must be safety conscious at all times.
  • Participants respond to and cooperate with all UD Campus Recreation and University of Dayton employees.
  • Disorderly conduct, abuse, or misuse of the facility, equipment, staff, or disregard for policies will not be tolerated. Violators will be required to leave the facility and may be subject to disciplinary action, reimbursement for damages, and/or potential suspension from the facilities and programs. Participants who are suspended will not have any portion of their fees refunded.

Participant Waiver

I recognize and acknowledge that use of UD Campus Recreation facilities, equipment, and programs entails certain inherent risks that could result in physical or emotional injury.  I voluntarily and freely assume all risk of accident, injury, illness, or damage to or loss of property which I may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities associated with UD Campus Recreation.

I hereby declare that I am in good health and have no mental or physical condition or symptoms that could interfere with my safety or the safety of others while participating in any activity using any equipment or facilities of UD Campus Recreation. Furthermore, I certify that I have adequate health insurance to cover any injury or damage that I may suffer while participating, or alternatively, agree to bear all costs associated with any such injury or damages to myself.

I the undersigned do hereby release, hold harmless, indemnify, waive and discharge the University of Dayton and all its officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action arising from any injuries or damages I may suffer or sustain from my participation in, or use of, any facility, equipment, and/or programs.  Furthermore, in full recognition and appreciation of the potential dangers and hazards inherent in athletic and other activities, I do hereby agree to assume any and all risks, liabilities, and responsibilities for all accidents, injuries, damages, or property losses arising from my participation.

In the event of a medical emergency requiring more than basic first aid, I authorize University of Dayton officials and Board of Trustees of University of Dayton to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, and/or medical personnel any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care and agree that I will be responsible for payment of any and all medical services rendered.

Stuart Field Rules

  • Proper attire including cross training athletic shoes, molded cleats, and t-shirts or tanks that cover the torso, midriff,
  • and rib cage are required. Bare feet, metal, screw on cleats or spikes are prohibited.
  • Flammable items, motor vehicles, skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, golf equipment, glass products, marking tape,
  • chairs, sharp objects, or pets are prohibited.
  • The use of food, sunflower seeds, gum, tobacco, and alcohol is strictly prohibited on Stuart Field. Only water and sport drinks, in sealed containers, are permitted.
  • Stuart Field is available for recreational activities during normal operation hours when not in use by Campus Recreation.
  • Recreation scheduled programs.
  • Students must have a valid UD undergraduate ID or UD Campus Recreation membership to gain entry to the field.
  • Refrain from striking objects, leaning on, climbing or affixing items to the fence.
  • Bicycles, rollerblades and other unauthorized motor vehicles are prohibited on the walking path. Note: 1 lap = .385 mile.
  • Caution, be aware of objects leaving the field of play.
  • Failure to adhere to UD Campus Recreation rules, including trespassing, are a violation of the code of conduct and will result in immediate removal from the facility and possible disciplinary action.
  • UD Campus Recreation will make decisions pertaining to field and weather conditions and reserves the right to close the facility and/or cancel activities at any time.

Minors Policy

Minor Age Restrictions

UD Campus Recreation minor age restrictions apply to any person that is 17 and younger who is not enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, as a University of Dayton student. Minors brought to UD Campus Recreation facilities by a member, employee, student or visitor are the sole responsibility of the member, employee, student or visitor. The person bringing the minor to UD Campus Recreation facilities is responsible for abiding by UD Campus Recreation policies and procedures, as well as all aspects of the minor's behavior including the minor’s safety, and is financially responsible for any damages caused by the minor. 

Age: 16-17 years old
Restriction: Must be supervised by a parent or guardian who remains in  the facility at all times. Only minors 16 and older may utilize  the Fitness Center and Track.

Age: 6-15 years old
Restriction: Must be indirectly supervised by a parent or guardian who remains in the same area and within sight at all times.

Age: 5 years old and younger
Restriction: Must be directly supervised by a parent or guardian who remains within reaching distance at all times.  If using the  pool area the parent or guardian must remain in direct contact with the child at all times.

Locker Rooms

All minors 14 years of age and younger must be escorted or supervised by an authorized adult (parent or guardian) at all times while inside the locker rooms. Children 3 years of age and under may accompany their parent or guardian in the locker room of the opposite sex. However, members are strongly encouraged to use the family changing area located near the south end of the locker rooms.

Guest Guidelines

Without a valid UD Campus Recreation membership, any individual wishing to use UD Campus Recreation facilities or programs must purchase a guest pass and be sponsored by a current UD Campus Recreation member. All guests age 18 and older will be required to sign a waiver and present a valid photo ID to enter the RecPlex. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s license, state ID, military ID or school ID. Guests caught soliciting sponsorship into the facility will be removed immediately by UD Public Safety. The guest/day pass fee is $10 per day.

  • Members may sponsor up to two (2) guests per day by purchasing a daily guest pass. The sponsor may not leave UD Campus Recreation facilities/property without his/her guest. Guests must use a guest pass receipt to access all facilities and/or eligible programs.
  • Guests 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times and will be assessed the guest pass fee. Children three years old and under are permitted free of charge.
  • Sponsors are responsible for the conduct of their guest(s) and are subject to all rules and regulations affiliated with a guest pass, including pass termination should their guest’s conduct warrant it.
  • Guest pass holders may not participate in intramurals and must purchase a one class pass in order to take a group fitness class.
  • Spectators associated with facility rentals are only permitted in Campus Recreation facilities for authorized and special events as per the facility rental contract. Group Rental participants/spectators must check in through the welcome desk to obtain the appropriate pass to enter the facility.

Entrance Policy

UD Campus Recreation’s mission is to serve the University of Dayton campus community. There is a  strict admittance policy based on the presentation of a valid UD ID or UD Campus Recreation membership card. Patrons will be refused entry without a valid membership ID. Patrons must provide proof of age or verification of membership eligibility upon request.  

Patrons must show one of the following for entry into the facility:

  • Students: valid undergraduate UD ID
  • Patrons: UD ID and/or current UD Campus Recreation member card
  • Guests: proof of eligibility or sponsor to purchase a daily guest pass

ID Forgiveness Policy

In the event that a UD Campus Recreation member forgets their UD ID or membership card, he/she will be allowed to enter the facility on the first instance, provided they can verify account information.  

In the event that a member forgets their UD ID or membership card more than once in the same semester, the member can purchase a day pass at the current rate or leave and return with their valid UD ID or membership card.

Accessibility and Accommodations

Facilities operated by UD Campus Recreation are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Our staff is eager to provide assistance as we want all our patrons to fully use our facilities and reach their health and fitness goals.

Media Policy

By entering a UD Campus Recreation facility, you consent to being the subject of any photography, audio, or video recordings, which may take place while you are participating in programming and/or open recreation activities. Such photography and recordings may be used for UD publications, webcasts, telecasts, advertising, and for any other additional promotional or marketing purpose as the University of Dayton may see fit. By entering a UD Campus Recreation facility, you hereby waive all rights or claims you may have to any financial compensation or payment of royalties in connection with any publications, webcasts, broadcasts, or exhibition of these materials. When/if your likeness or image is used in a publication, there will be no identifying information provided. If you do not wish to be photographed, please kindly inform our photographer or videographer.
