About the Rock Wall

The rock wall, located on the ground floor of the RecPlex, is free for members and guests. Climbing shoes and harnesses and instruction are provided at no cost.

New to Climbing?

Never climbed at our rock wall before? Our friendly staff will help you. After signing a waiver to climb, our staff will point you to the equipment rental center, where you can borrow climbing shoes and a harness for free. Next, our staff will help you understand the gear and the types of climbing you can do at the rock wall. All rock wall staff are trained in belaying and are more than happy to "give you a catch" if you want to rope up and give rock climbing a go.

Personal Equipment

We allow our climbers to use their personal climbing shoes, harnesses and chalk bags. However, if our staff deems any personal gear too dangerous/damaged to climb, the gear in question will be prohibited. Personal belay devices and carabiners are prohibited.

Children and Climbing

We welcome families, groups and children to the rock wall. Full-body child and youth harnesses are available.

Climbing Clinics

If you're interested in elevating your climbing skills, we offer belay and route-setting climbing clinics. After completing a clinic and skills test, you will be permitted to put these skills to use under the supervision of trained rock wall staff.

Register on Active Flyers, or register at the RecPlex welcome desk if you are interested in participating in these clinics.
