Center for Business Student Engagement

The University of Dayton School of Business Administration has more than 25 student-run clubs and organizations that provide you with opportunities to apply concepts learned in the classroom into real-world, hands-on activities.

By getting involved in these extra-curricular activities, you can gain leadership experience, enhance your professional skills and have opportunities to meet business professionals in formal and informal settings.

Center for Project Excellence

The Center for Project Excellence applies student power to help area businesses solve complex problems. Our consulting activities focus on management information systems and operations analysis projects while supporting undergraduate and project management research. The Center offers a variety of technical resources as well as space and mentoring for oral presentations and role-playing.

Center for the Integration of Faith and Work

The Center for the Integration of Faith and Work provides a range of activities and programs that examine the religious and spiritual dimensions of the workplace, concentrating on Catholic Marianist Traditions.

In concert with UD's sense of religious mission in the professions, the Center engages in, and contributes to, a national and international discussion regarding the integration of faith and work.

Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership

The L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership provides a distinctive approach to entrepreneurship education. Through the multidisciplinary entrepreneurship major, students have the opportunity to start microbusinesses, gain exposure to rapid-growth companies, and have regular contact with successful entrepreneurs.

Davis Center for Portfolio Management

Students from all majors can gain real-world portfolio management experience and develop essential leadership skills. The Richard P. and Susan P. Davis Center for Portfolio Management is run by student managers and team leaders selected competitively each year.

The most visible part of the Center are the students who run the No. 1 student-managed investment fund in the country. This is real money, and you'll make the decisions as to what stocks to buy and sell. You won't be doing this alone — you'll be assisted by the Center director and an executive-in-residence — but the decisions are yours.

Student managers also conduct educational seminars, arrange field trips, participate in national finance competitions, undertake service projects and — perhaps most importantly — teach each other.

Hanley Center for ESG Investing

Through the Hanley Center for ESG Investing, students manage the Hanley Sustainability Fund, which aims to outperform the S&P 500 by investing in companies that are committed to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

By investing in companies that prioritize sustainability, ethical practices, and good governance, the fund seeks to achieve both financial returns and positive social and environmental outcomes.

Open to all majors at UD.

The Fund's investment portfolio is divided into two branches:

  • Discretionary branch: 75% of the Fund's portfolio; determined by an algorithmic model.
  • Non-discretionary branch: 25% of the Fund’s portfolio; determined through students to buy and sell pitches, and approval by a vote from the securities team.
