Center Overview

What is the Center for Integration of Faith and Work?

The Center for the Integration of Faith and Work helps students discover how business can be a force for good. Students are encouraged to lead with integrity, purpose and compassion in their careers and communities.

Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and UD’s Marianist values, the Center helps students explore the connection between faith, ethics and leadership through:

  • Ethical leadership development.
  • Conversations around purpose and vocation.
  • Real-world learning experiences.
  • Values-driven business education.
  • Opportunities to make a positive impact through business.

More than preparing students for jobs, the center helps develop purpose-driven leaders ready to make a difference.

How can UD business students explore purpose and ethical leadership?

Through hands-on programs and meaningful conversations, business students learn how to lead with integrity and make an impact in their workplaces and communities:

  • Business as a Calling: Annual event where undergraduate business students learn from accomplished business leaders about ethical leadership, purpose-driven careers and real-world decision-making.
  • MBA 758 (Principled Organization: Integrating Faith, Ethics and Work): Graduate-level course that helps future leaders connect faith, ethics and purpose in the workplace. Grounded in UD's Marianist tradition, the course allows students to explore how to build values-driven organizations and lead with integrity.

Why Choose a Values-Based Marianist Business Education?

Today's business world needs leaders who care about more than just the bottom line. Students in the University of Dayton School of Business Administration learn how to lead with empathy, ethics and purpose while preparing for successful careers across industries.

Rooted in UD's Marianist values, our business education experience challenges students to think beyond profit and consider the impact they can make in their workplaces, communities and the world.

How UD Develops Purpose-Driven Business Leaders
  • Discover Purpose and Calling: Students are encouraged to explore their passions, strengths and career goals while discovering how business can be used to create meaningful impact.
  • Develop Ethical Leadership Skills: Through real-world conversations, reflection and hands-on experiences, students build the confidence and decision-making skills needed to lead with integrity.
