Confidential medical services provided by board-certified physicians and registered nurses include:
- Primary medical care for illnesses and injuries
- Care for ongoing or complicated medical issues (e.g. concussions, asthma)
- Mental health evaluations and selected treatments
- Women's health (e.g., Pap smears, breast and pelvic exams)
- Follow-up care after emergency room visits or hospitalizations
- Physicals (routine, work, sports)
- Travel visits (e.g., Malaria prevention, immunization counseling, etc.) Call for a doctor's appointment at least one month prior to departure.
- STI screening and treatment
- Immunizations (e.g., Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Tetanus)
- Allergy injections (Allergy Forms)
- Free urine pregnancy testing
- X-rays
- Diagnostic lab tests
- Administration of injectable medications and/or performance of laboratory testing from outside physicians with approved orders

Healthcare Education
- Nurse phone line for students' medical questions and symptoms assessments
- Self-care treatment plans for common concerns
- Assessment of alcohol, tobacco and substance usage, with risk education, social norming and recommendations for on- and off-campus resources
- Nurse-provided education for self-administration of certain injectable medications
Collaborative Partnerships Across Campus
- Managing mental health medication and evaluating symptoms related to mental health diagnosis, including consultation and/or referral to the Counseling Center
- Working with UD's Brook Center and health and wellbeing partners to promote health initiatives
- Evaluating and coordinating temporary or long-term accommodations with UD's Office of Learning Resources to support students' academic needs and success
- Coordinating with UD's dean of students' office to assure appropriate follow-up for serious medical issues and academic support
- Making appropriate referrals to specialist physicians or for additional testing, when necessary
- Working with UD International Student and Scholar Services to support healthcare for international students
Campus Public Health and Communicable Disease Risk Reduction
- Administering the University health requirements program for new students, ensuring compliance and proper documentation
- Managing the tuberculosis screening program and treatment for latent tuberculosis
- Coordinating with Public Health-Dayton and Montgomery County to report and follow-up on any cases of infectious diseases such as mumps, measles or chickenpox
- Working with UD Housing and Residence Life to address isolation and quarantine needs in the case of an outbreak of a disease on campus
Liaison between UD and the surrounding community for health related issues.
