Specifically designed for students 24 years of age and older who wish to attend the University of Dayton part-time, our Adult Degree Advancement Program allows you to complete your bachelor's degree at your own pace. Day and evening classes are available.

Program Overview

Affordability

Tuition for the Adult Degree Advancement Program is affordable, with cost per credit hour discounted 40 percent off the regular undergraduate tuition rate. Whether you take one class at a time or several classes in one semester, the cost per credit hour is the same.

The Adult Degree Advancement Program is specifically for part-time students. Students who register for more than 11 semester hours are not eligible for the specialAdult Degree Advancement Program tuition rate.

Scholarships

The Osher Reentry Scholarship and the Crankstart Reentry Scholarship may be awarded to students who are generally between the ages of 25-50 and have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years. The recipients must be pursuing their first baccalaureate degree.

Admission Criteria

You must be 24 years old or older, a high school graduate, have earned a General Education Degree (GED) or have a 2.0 cumulative GPA from another college to apply to the Adult Degree Advancement Program.

Note: Admission to the Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy program requires a completed associate's degree in early childhood education (or the equivalent).

How to Apply

  1. Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission as a part-time transfer student. If you are older than 24 years of age and select one of the programs available through the Adult Degree Advancement Program, you will automatically be reviewed for the Adult Degree Advancement Program. You must be a part-time student in order to participate in the Adult Degree Advancement Program.
  2. Request that official transcripts from your high school (or official results of the GED), as well as official transcripts from any colleges previously attended, be sent directly from the institution to the UD Office of Recruitment and Admission. Note: Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student and unofficial copies are not acceptable.

College Credit Evaluation

All prior college credits, including those earned through CLEP (College Level Examination Program) testing, will be carefully examined to maximize transfer credit. Learn more about transferring credit to UD and or use our transfer credit evaluation tool to see how your credits will transfer.

Registration

Once you have been accepted into the Adult Degree Advancement Program, the dean's office that corresponds with your degree program will contact you about scheduling courses.
