A Flexible Option for Learning

Academic Enrichment Studies offers you the flexibility to take courses of interest to you at a discounted rate without dedicating yourself to a degree program.

If you are a transient student (someone enrolled as a degree candidate at another institution), you can request to take a course on the University of Dayton's campus or via distance learning through Academic Enrichment Studies.

Check with your dean before registering to ensure your home institution will grant credit for a course taken at UD.

Program Overview

Affordability

All of our professional and continuing education programs are specifically designed to help you achieve your individual educational goals as a nontraditional, part-time student. Academic Enrichment Studies allows you to take classes at a discounted rate, making an already affordable education easier to manage financially.

The cost per credit hour for classes taken through Academic Enrichment Studies is discounted at 40 percent off the regular undergraduate tuition rate. Whether you take one class at a time or several classes in one semester, the cost per credit hour is the same.

Apply and Register

There is no application process for Academic Enrichment Studies. To register for classes, simply:

  1. Check the academic catalog for classes of interest. Remember the code and title of any classes in which you would like to enroll.
  2. Visit the dynamic schedule and enter your class(es) of interest to verify they are available for the upcoming term. Note which section of the class you wish to take. If you are a Transient Student visiting from another college or university, you should verify with your university that they will accept the credit as a transfer before enrolling. We cannot guarantee acceptance at your home university.
  3. Register for your desired class(es) by completing the online registration form. You will receive confirmation of your registration via email once your request has been processed.

Please note: These steps apply only to students in the Academic Enrichment Studies program. Currently enrolled UD undergraduate and graduate students should follow the University's registration process.
