Learning Beyond the Classroom

Teacher Education majors can choose from several extra-curricular activities that cater specifically to education majors.

Our experiential learning opportunities, along with clubs and organizations, enhance the learning experience and provide awareness of real-world concepts in the area of education.

Experiential Learning

Observation, Field Placements, Student Teaching

Undergraduate students studying teacher education have opportunities to explore the teaching profession in the field as soon as their freshman year. By the time graduation arrives, they have spent 800+ hours in local classrooms, through a mix of observation and student teaching.

Study Abroad and Away

To prepare you to be a global citizen and prepare to work in a global marketplace, we offer a variety of study abroad and away programs throughout the academic year, including a full slate of summer programs.

Lalanne

Teacher education graduate students pursuing a master's degree at UD can apply for this specialized program. Lalanne program participants benefit from two years of mentored teaching experience and live in community with other Lalanne teachers.
