Our College of Arts and Sciences Ambassadors were selected by their faculty members as extremely engaged students within their majors who are taking part in many of the experiential learning, research and internship opportunities provided to them through a UD education.

Major: Biology

Why UD: I chose UD because it's close to home and it offered every opportunity I could've ever imagined. I knew that coming here I'd gain real-world experiences that would support me in any path I take after undergrad.

Mia BarrettMia Barrett

Major: Communication Management

Why UD: I transferred to UD from CU Boulder. I chose UD for the smaller campus, but also tight knit community. I’ve had many cousins who attended UD and friends that I knew from home come to UD. Through hearing their stories and experiences here, I knew I would love it!

Patrick ConleyPatrick Conley

Major: Computer Science

Why UD: I chose UD because I have a brother who is a year older, and, when I visited him, everyone welcomed me with open arms. I felt comfortable the entire time I was on campus visiting him, and I fell in love with the school.

Gabby DavisGabby Davis

Major: Communication (Public Relations)

Why UD: The number of staff and faculty who came around me and promised support and encouragement throughout my time here. I immediately felt less like a number because people were invested in my future.

Audrey DeGregorioAudrey DeGregorio

Major: Psychology

Why UD: I chose UD because, of all the schools I toured, the second I walked on campus I pictured myself walking around here for the next four years. There were lots of great schools, but ultimately once I got here, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

Why UD: I chose UD because it was very important to me that I could continue studying Italian language and culture in college. After visiting campus and meeting Dr. Renato Ventura, Associate Professor of Italian, I was sold. He was so welcoming and enthusiastic, and he has been an incredible source of support and mentorship throughout my time at UD.

Major: Predentistry

Why UD: I chose UD because I felt a sense of familiarity and belonging. UD has a very warm atmosphere, with friendly faces greeting you everywhere you go. I knew that I would be able to obtain a great education with smaller class sizes, which would allow me to have more personal connections with my professors. My faith is also very important to me, and I knew that I would be supported in growing in my faith with UD's roots in Catholicism.

Why UD: I chose UD because I really enjoyed the atmosphere and opportunities that it provided- I received a lot of personal encouragement when I was considering UD and it helped show me that it's a University that will go the extra mile to help out students.

Why UD: I chose UD because it gave me a home feeling and also is not too far from my actual home. I also chose UD because of the support from the faculty and staff I'd find in my major.

Serena LaBelloSerena LaBello

Major: English

Why UD: Both of my older sisters attended UD. After visiting them, I fell in love with the campus and how inclusive everyone was. Especially when I visited in the fall, when all the leaves are turning. Campus was so beautiful and peaceful. UD immediately felt like home.

Lillian LentzLillian Lentz

Major: Criminal Justice and Security Studies

Why UD: I chose UD because everyone made me feel so welcome. It truly felt like home and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Juliane LukamboJuliane Lukambo

Major: Computer Science

Why UD: I chose UD because it offers the perfect balance of size, community and opportunity. For me, it was big enough to provide strong academic programs, especially for computer science. At the same time, it was small enough to where I would not just be another number. I actually get to know my professors and classmates. The Department of Computer Science also captures my interest because it not only builds a strong technical foundation but also gives you the flexibility to explore different areas of computer science. UD offers so many opportunities for experiential learning, whether it's through research, internships or hands-on projects. And finally, the sense of community at UD is unmatched. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive, which makes it a great place to grow academically and personally.

Trevor MartinTrevor Martin

Major: Environmental Biology

Why UD: I chose to attend UD because I believed it would provide me with a quality education and bountiful opportunities, all while accommodating my needs as a commuter student.

Davin O'MaleyDavin O'Maley

Major: Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work

Why UD: The supportive and welcoming atmosphere on campus really impacted my decision to choose UD. The small-to-medium size of UD makes it easier to make friends and connections, and the small class sizes make for a better learning environment.

Catie OrbanCatie Orban

Major: Graphic Design

Why UD: Going in to college, it was important to me to stay close to my family and be in an environment that fosters my faith and wants me to succeed. UD has helped me grow as a designer and as a person, I feel very prepared and confident as I get closer to graduating this December and start my career as a professional graphic designer!

Greg PologrutoGreg Pologruto

Major: Computer Science

Why UD: When I toured UD, I felt like I found a home away from home. The campus was beautiful, and I really liked the computer science building.

Molly SchlosserMolly Schlosser

Major: English

Why UD: I chose UD because it instantly felt like home. When I visited campus for the first time, I could sense the love and pride that every student felt towards the University, and I wanted to experience that pure passion and adoration for my college. After attending UD for over 2 years, I can say with confidence that I feel that exact pride in my college that I was searching for.

Adelaide SeifriedAdelaide Seifried

Major: Premedicine

Why UD: UD has a great premedical program, and the Fitz Center works closely with the Dayton community. I've spent most of my life in Dayton, and want to continue being closely involved in revitalization efforts and making Dayton a more equitable place, specifically in the healthcare sector.

Ashley WilliamsAshley Williams

Major: Biology

Why UD: I chose UD because of the research opportunities, and because the research professors at this University get to teach classes. This provides a unique opportunity where students can learn from instructors who are truly passionate about teaching their specialized subjects. It can make a huge positive impact on students when a professor loves the subject they are teaching, and this is something I've found to be prevalent at UD.

Jamie ZhangJamie Zhang

Major: Mathematics and Statistics

Why UD: I absolutely love the strong sense of camaraderie within all my peers and mentors.
