We Are Here For You

Guided by its Catholic and Marianist values, the University of Dayton calls everyone to honor the intrinsic value and dignity of all people. The Brook Center honors this commitment by connecting students with resources, providing support, developing campus wide programming and building community.

Our goal is to foster a more welcoming campus community where all students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) feel welcomed, respected, safe and valued as full members of the UD community. All of our programming is open to any and all.

Ally+ Workshop

The Ally+ Workshop builds a network of allies who enhance the campus and local community's understanding of gender and sexuality.

Allies can display a sign signifying their support, trustworthiness and affirmation of all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression. By living the values of our commitment to community, allies invite others into the conversation so all UD faculty, staff and students feel valued, heard and seen.

Finding Q*mmunity

Q*mmunity Leaders are a group of student peer educators who strive to cultivate a more welcoming campus environment for LGBTQ+ individuals at UD. Through intentional conversations, presentations, programs and events, we can continue to raise awareness of, and build a community of support for, the LGBTQ+ community.

Additional Student Groups

Spectrum
Spectrum's mission is to provide a strong, supportive community for UD's LGBTQ+ students with the hopes of further spreading awareness, acceptance and resources relating to queer issues and culture. To achieve its mission, Spectrum provides regular discussion forums about topics relevant to LGBTQ+ students and allies. Additionally, the organization hosts events and activities to provide an outlet for current students and other members of UD's LGBTQ+ community.

FOLX
The mission of FOLX is to support Queer, Transgender, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (QTBIPOC) students and provide a sense of community for those who otherwise feel their identities are not represented.

LGBTQ+ Ministry
Faithful Ally Retreat During this retreat, we will build understanding that all are created in the image and likeness of God and we all embody a spark of the Divine. Student leaders will share their experience and create open spaces for safe dialogue where participants can explore the intersection of identities as both people of faith and as LGBTQ+ Allies.
