Women's and Gender Studies 40th Anniversary
The University of Dayton women's and gender studies program was first discussed during the 1960s when issues of gender were being raised on college campuses. The University formally launched a women's study program in 1978 with a social justice-oriented mission to make students aware that women and gender issues matter.

University of Dayton alumnus Jim O'Brien '78 took a personal approach to supporting students' work in Malawi, Africa. In late June, he traveled with a faculty delegation on a nine-day trip to the southeastern African nation, where both the University and the Marianists have been active community builders.

MPA Program Celebrates 50 Years
The University of Dayton master of public administration program recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. MPA program alumni, students and faculty gathered Oct. 27-28 on the University's River Campus to celebrate the anniversary and the graduate program's impact on their careers in public service. The MPA program is hosted by the department of political science in the College of Arts and Sciences.
