Every Student Is Unique. So Are We.

Variety of Concentrations

While pursuing a communication degree at UD, you can choose a concentration to specialize in communication management, journalism, media production and public relations, giving you the opportunity to follow your interests and passions.

Outstanding Faculty

UD’s communication faculty have won numerous awards for teaching, research, and creative work. They lead the field, with three faculty serving in the prestigious role of academic journal editors. And, they are accessible to students. One-on-one advising is provided with open door policy.

Flyer Media

Flyer Media is made up of Flyer PR, Flyer TV, Flyer Radio and Flyer News, providing students with a variety of opportunities to gain experience in communication fields.

Flyer PR, the student-run agency, allows students to participate in PR campaigns, engage with potential clients and help coordinate a Flyer PR sanctioned event. This hands-on experience provides students with the knowledge and experiential learning to prepare them for the PR industry.

Flyer TV is a student-run cable television station that brings together the talents of many UD students. While many media production students participate, Flyer TV is open to all majors. The station produces original programming including news, sports, interesting interviews, student-produced independent shows and more.

Participation in Flyer Radio — WUDR 99.5/98.1 FM — is open to students from any major, and it's great experience for media production majors who have interests in radio and audio production.

Flyer News is UD's only student-run newspaper. It is an organization for journalism majors but is open to any major. Published twice a week, Flyer News provides opportunities for students to write news, sports, arts and entertainment and opinion or editorial articles. Students can write for the independent student newspaper and website, even as a first-year student.

Interact With Communication Industry Professionals

University of Dayton communication students have opportunities to talk with alumni and other industry professionals through Flyers in Chicago and Flyers in Hollywood. They also have the opportunity to learn from — and with — Pulitzer Prize and Emmy Award winners, authors, humorists, publishers, agents and social media experts at the Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop.
