Gudorf Chair in Catholic Theology and Culture

The Gudorf Chair in Catholic Theology and Culture plays a central role in the advancement of the doctoral program in theology at UD. The doctoral program offers a distinctive research focus which locates the work of theology in history and culture, with particular attention to the Church in the United States.

The scholarly expertise of the Gudorf Chair's focuses on the interplay of theology and culture: engaging interdisciplinary scholarship on religion and culture and bringing theological scholarship to bear on the practical challenges facing Catholicism in its engagements with contemporary society.

The Gudorf Chair teaches courses in the Department of Religious Studies and makes substantive contributions to the entire university's intellectual life by engaging in public discourse through lectures, seminars and symposia.
