UD Sinclair Academy

You're considered a first-year applicant to the UD Sinclair Academy if you:

• Are a current high school student, even if you have earned college credits through College Credit Plus or other dual-enrollment programs.
• Have never attended a college or university.

You're considered a UDSA transfer applicant if you:

• Are currently enrolled at Sinclair.*
• Are currently enrolled at another college or university.

*If you are currently enrolled at Sinclair and in your last semester, you may be considered a transfer student, rather than a UDSA applicant.

High school students must meet UD's undergraduate admission requirements for entering first-year students, as well as submit:

• Official high school completion document.
• Official college transcripts for credit earned from College Credit Plus or Dual Enrollment, if applicable.
• Official AP, CLEP and IB score reports, if applicable.

Students enrolled at Sinclair College should have a minimum 3.0 GPA and the preferred 15 hours of articulation agreement credits completed, as well as submit:

• Official high school completion document.
• Official Sinclair College transcript. (Note: Upon receipt of your application, UD will request your transcript directly from Sinclair College.)
• Official transcripts from any other college(s) you have attended.

Current Sinclair students must have at least one full semester remaining at Sinclair to enroll in the Academy. Students in their final semester at Sinclair might need to apply to UD as a transfer student. If you have questions about how to apply, please contact James Magwood.

Honors Program

UDSA transfer students with a college GPA of 3.7 or above (or a 3.5 if enrolled in college honors courses) may be considered for admission to UD's Honors Program. For more information, please contact the Honors Program at honorsinfo@udayton.edu.

Transcripts should be mailed or sent electronically from the institution to UD's Office of Recruitment and Admission.

Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked "Issued to Student" and unofficial copies are not acceptable.

Once all required information is received, your application will be reviewed.

You can check your Admission Account to see if your application is complete. If it is not complete, your Application Checklist will show any materials that are still needed.

If you believe you have submitted all application materials but your Admission Account says "Review Checklist," please email admission@udayton.edu. An admission counselor will review your application and advise you on your next steps.

We strongly recommend checking your Admission Account frequently for new information and messages. Your admission decision will also be posted to your Admission Account.

• For students applying for fall semester (classes starting in August), we begin releasing admission decisions who meet our Dec. 1 priority application deadline in December, then will continue on a rolling basis.
• For students applying for spring semester (classes starting in January), we begin sending admission decisions in September, then continue on a rolling basis.

You’ll receive an email when your admission decision is available in your Admission Account. Formal admission letters are also sent in the mail.

The UD Sinclair Academy is eager to reward your hard work. File the FAFSA to be considered for generous merit scholarships at UD as well as additional federal, state and institutional financial aid. After we receive your FAFSA, we'll prepare a transparent financial aid offer outlining your costs and financial aid for each year. We'll begin sending financial aid offers for students applying for spring admission in October, and for students applying for fall admission in February.

Be sure to submit your FAFSA to both UD and Sinclair to be considered for aid at both schools.

If you're not eligible to file the FAFSA (for example: international students), you will receive a financial aid offer that outlines your scholarships and costs for each year.
