Degree Information and Courses

Our on-campus MBA program is designed to immerse you in problem-focused courses that help you learn to bring theory into practice, fostering leadership while instilling ethics and integrity. Our collaborative classroom environment helps develop ethical solutions to real-world business problems.

Five concentrations allow you to customize your on-campus MBA experience. Choose from:

  • Business Analytics
  • Cybersecurity
  • Finance
  • Healthcare Management
  • Marketing

Additionally, we offer a STEM designated MBA option, which can extend post-graduation work opportunities in the U.S. for international students through Optional Practical Training.

If you hold a non-business degree, or lack coursework or work experience in key areas of undergraduate business study, self-paced foundation modules are required before completing the core courses.

MBA/JD joint degree program

Our MBA/JD joint degree program is an integrated program of study which leads to both the Juris Doctor and the Master of Business Administration degrees. The combined degree program provides a unique opportunity of professional study for those who wish to complete a program of legal education as well as graduate level training in business, administration, management, and economics.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the online application, you should submit the following:

  1. Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked “Issued to Student” and unofficial copies are not acceptable. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to the University of Dayton through a transcript platform or to transcripts@udayton.edu.
  2. A current, professional resume with detailed work experience.
  3. Results from the GMAT/GRE are not required. However, they may be requested in some circumstances for a final admission decision.
  4. A personal statement (optional). If you choose to provide a personal statement, please use it to address areas of your academic and/or professional histories that may benefit from further clarification (example: details on gaps in work experience, circumstances surrounding poor academic performance/disciplinary actions, or explanations concerning legal disciplinary action). Length should be no more than one page, double-spaced. Please include your name and date of birth.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.

For applicants with a non-business degree, or who lack coursework or work experience in key areas of undergraduate business study, foundation modules are required. The modules are online, self-paced, non-credit bearing, pass/fail. The admissions staff will determine how many (up to 5) of these modules may be required.

In assessing applicants, the University is committed to doing so in a nondiscriminatory manner, i.e., an applicant's membership in any protected class shall not be considered as a factor in the application review process.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Rooted in our Catholic, Marianist traditions, the University of Dayton is dedicated to being transparent and ensuring student success.

Financial aid may be available for degree-seeking graduate students, file the FAFSA to be considered. Once you have applied and been accepted to a graduate program, we will prepare your applicable aid for the upcoming year.

Tuition Discounts

We partner with select organizations to offer tuition discount benefits for new applicants. You may qualify for benefits with the below partner organizations:

  • Wright-Patterson Air Force Base: In addition to your WPAFB tuition benefits, you will receive a 25% tuition discount for the on-campus MBA program. This discount is available to all veterans.
  • LexisNexis: 25% scholarship to all LexisNexis employees. Combined with your LexisNexis tuition benefits, you'll only pay 17% out of pocket for your MBA
  • Gotion: 25% tuition discount for the on-campus MBA program. You may also qualify for tuition benefits from Gotion.
  • University of Dayton Center for Leadership (UDCL): Two opportunities are available for UDCL tuition benefits: 1) Emerging leader alumni (qualified applicants are eligible to receive the first three credit hours in the on-campus MBA program at no tuition cost), and 2) employees of UDCL partner organizations (employees of UDCL partner organizations are eligible for a 25% tuition discount in the on-campus MBA program).
