Our program is a partnership between the School of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences. You will work with some of the best scholars from across disciplines as you pursue your master's degree in bioengineering at the University of Dayton.
In our 30- semester hour program, you choose from four emphasis areas:
- biomaterials and biomechanics
- biosystems engineering
- bioengineering instrumentation
- bioprocess engineering
Applicants to the bioengineering program should submit the following information in addition to the online application:
- Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student and unofficial copies are not acceptable.
- Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers.
- A personal statement or résumé.
- Results from the GRE are required.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited program in engineering (including one year of general biology) or biology (including differential equations and computer programming). Additional courses are highly recommended (e.g., organic chemistry, numerical methods, statistics or biochemistry). Applicants with a different undergraduate degree may be required to complete prerequisites. Applicants should have at least a 3.0 cumulative grad- point average on a 4.0 scale.
Additional requirements apply for international students.
Graduate assistantships are available; however, some restrictions may apply to international students. Some of the graduate assistantships are at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. Please contact the program director for details.
