The Student Care & Advocacy Team housed in the Dean of Students Office is the primary advocate for students. They are committed to providing programs and services that support students in achieving academic and personal success. Through our Marianist approach to holistic education that addresses your physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual needs and capacities, we help you become your best self in service to others. Campus Ministry

Rooted in the University’s Catholic and Marianist tradition, Campus Ministry cultivates the faith life of the campus community. Campus Ministry fosters spiritual growth through worship, pastoral care, faith formation, service, and reflection. There are opportunities for one-on-one support, small group faith communities, worship services, and vocational exploration.

Substance misuse can impact your health and wellbeing. As a Flyer, you have access to a range of services, resources, and educational programs from CADRE to help you make well-informed and responsible decisions about alcohol and other drugs. Whether you are in recovery, want to abstain from substance use, or need information for yourself or a friend, CADRE has licensed staff members who can work with you to develop an action plan to reduce the potential harm from high-risk behaviors and activities.

There isn’t a single University of Dayton experience. In fact, each of us has a different version of life as a Flyer. With the resources available through CSI, you can tailor your time here to focus on your interests and expand them. With over 200 recognized student organizations, including fraternities and sororities, sport clubs, and special interest organizations, there are many opportunities to find your community on-campus. CSI also offers a wide variety of substance-free events and programs on the weekends, as well as opportunities to hang out and bowl or play billiards in The Hangar in Kennedy Union.

CSC administers the University’s Student Code of Conduct and their primary focus is on helping students learn from the consequences of their actions and become a positive influence within the UD community and beyond.

Counseling Center (UDCC)

The UD Counseling Center provides mental health services to UD undergraduate and graduate students. UDCC uses a drop-in model, in which students can access same-day sessions for one-time consultations with a therapist, or to link to on-going services, including individual and group therapy sessions. Check-out their website for information about drop-in hours. Additionally, UDCC provides crisis services during business hours and after-hours. If you need assistance after-hours, please call Public Safety at 937- 229-2121 and ask to talk with the crisis therapist on-call.

Dining Services is committed to providing the UD campus community with the highest quality of food, beverage, and service. There is licensed Dietician on-staff that can assist you with general nutrition concerns, navigating food allergies or intolerances in dining facilities, special dietary restrictions, and meal planning.

Equity Compliance Office (ECO)

ECO oversees the University’s Nondiscrimination and Anti- Harassment Policy, the Mandatory Reporting policy, and the related grievance procedures. ECO receives all reports of protected-class bias, harassment, and discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual violence under Title IX and dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking under VAWA. Visit the ECO website above to report an incident of protected-class bias, harassment, and discrimination, and learn about confidential resources.

Global & Intercultural Affairs (GIA) Center

The GIA Center provides support services for international students and visiting scholars, and for students involved in educational abroad programs. GIA’s many programs are designed to connect students with opportunities, including those that help to facilitate English language skill development (IEP), cultural adjustment, and cross-cultural connections.

Military and Veteran Programs & Services (MVPS)

MVPS is made up of those who currently or have previously served in the Armed Forces of the United States and their families. Responsibilities include transition to higher education, support to students who balance their education with ongoing military duty, enrollment and retention, benefits advising, and community outreach.

OLR empowers students by removing barriers to access and providing services that help students perform at their highest academic level. Knowing how you learn best can help you make good learning choices that will shape the rest of your career as a student and as an individual. OLR offers a wide variety of services at no cost, including Access & Disability Services, Academic Coaching, Supplemental Instruction, Tutoring, UDI Learning Courses, and the Write Place.

Public Safety (UDPS)

UDPS works 24/7 to maintain the safety and security of campus and the surrounding community and is available to assist in a variety of ways (e.g., lost and found, escorts, reporting a concern/crime, etc.). Additionally, during the academic year, Public Safety provides around the clock pre-hospital emergency medical services to the UD community through a student-run EMS program, which will transport students in an ambulance to area hospitals at no-cost to the student.

Student Health Center

Whether you are not feeling well, need a physical, or require a vaccination, the Student Health Center is here for you. Located in the lower level of Gosiger Hall, the
 Student Health Center is staffed by a team of board- certified primary care physicians and nurses.

Undergraduate, Law, and PA students can visit with a nurse or physician for no visit charge. Graduate and IEP students are charged for visits. Students may also use their insurance to have medications delivered from Walgreens Pharmacy (Wayne Ave.) to the Student Health Center for pick-up during business hours.

The Brook Center

The Brook Center provides relationship education, focusing on relationships with self, others, and your environment. The Brook focuses on holistic development of students by prioritizing health and wellbeing in persona, relational, and intellectual growth. The Brook Center provides Health Education, LGBTQ+ Student Services, Mental Health Education, and Sexual Violence Prevention Education with opportunities for student leadership and involvement with these initiatives.

The University Libraries offer a wide variety of services to students, including borrowing, renewing, and requesting materials; computer and printing services; poster printing; borrowing media equipment (e.g. calculators, headphones, recorders, etc.); and study spaces with a range of acceptable noise volumes, assigned by floor.

Women’s Center

Their name is a little misleading. All are welcome in their space as they work to advance gender equity across identities and advocate for an equitable University culture and community for all. The Women’s Center offers a variety of programs and services, including programming related to understanding gender, healthy living topics, and body positivity, as well as information and resources for parents and caregivers and survivors of intimate partner violence. Please note, the Women’s Center staff are NOT confidential resources for mandatory reporting purposes related to incidents of bias, harassment, and discrimination.
