Visit Campus, Save on Textbooks
The University of Dayton offers a textbook scholarship that covers the cost of course materials each semester at UD to incoming students who make an official campus visit and file the FAFSA. This award covers the purchase of required course materials through the University Bookstore.
To earn the scholarship, first-year undergraduate students starting at UD in fall 2026 should apply, visit campus and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 1, 2026. Transfer, UD Sinclair Academy and international students starting at UD in fall 2026 can also qualify for the textbook scholarship.
For students starting at UD in fall 2027 (current high school juniors) or later, the textbook scholarship will be available to students with financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.
Students who are not awarded a textbook scholarship can take advantage of our flat-rate price for course materials of just $299.99 plus tax per semester, which includes access to all required books (print and digital).
The textbook scholarship is only valid for course material purchases. It cannot be used to purchase clothing, giftware or supplies.
The following students are ineligible for the textbook scholarship:
- Dependents of University of Dayton employees when receiving 95% tuition remission, or the combination of partial tuition remission benefit and other university gift aid total 95% of tuition.
- Students receiving a book stipend from another agency that is equal to or greater than the University's award (for example, Army ROTC scholarship recipients).
