Signature Opportunities for Honors Students

In addition to engaging in stimulating coursework, honors students may further enrich their academic experience by participating in prestigious experiential learning opportunities. Current students can find application information and additional details in Porches.

Chaminade Scholars

Chaminade Scholars are honors students who explore faith and vocation while engaging in seminar courses, retreats and leadership experiences. The Scholars consider their own lives as a calling from God and to develop their skills leaders who put their faith into action. Interested first-year students may apply at the beginning of the spring semester; 20 applicants will be selected.

Berry Summer Thesis Institute

Honors students can spend the summer after their first or second year at UD working closely with a faculty mentor on research related to their interests. They also participate in a mini-course, professional development workshop, research presentation, community engagement and social activities. Housing and a summer stipend are provided.

Hull International Fellowship

Fellowships are awarded twice a year to support transformative international learning, leadership and service experiences for honors students.

Global Flyers: Dublin

Up to six honors students are selected each year to spend eight weeks participating in a full-time internship in Dublin, Ireland. Housing and a summer stipend are provided.

Global Flyers: Oxford

Up to three honors students are selected to spend six weeks expanding their thesis research at Oxford University. Students work closely with an assigned tutor who can mentor and guide their research. Housing and a summer stipend are provided.

DC Flyers

DC Flyers explore careers in Washington D.C., through summer internships and experiential learning opportunities. Participants benefit from mentorship of co-workers, faculty, staff, peers and the local UD alumni network. Housing and a summer stipend are provided.
