Fulfilling the Call to Liturgical Leadership

Grow in your faith and serve our community through liturgical ministry.

The University of Dayton regularly celebrates Mass in the chapel and residence halls, and volunteers are needed to serve as:

  • Lectors
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
  • Altar Servers
  • Mass Coordinators

All ministers receive training and formation.

Music Ministry

Good music makes a profound difference in the vibrant celebration of liturgy! We invite you to share your gifts of voice or instrument with the UD worshipping community.

Every Sunday Mass and every evening residence hall Mass has its own student-led choirs and instrumental musicians.

Undergraduate Music Ministers (UGMMs)

This program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to foster, cultivate and encourage the musical gifts that were given to them by the Holy Spirit.

Undergraduate music ministers learn to lead a group that praises and glorifies God through song, as well as take a course that enhances their understanding of liturgical ministry.

Please contact Keara Parciak for more information.

Volunteer Musicians and Singers

All are invited to share their gifts with our University community through song at campus liturgies. A team of students coordinates music for liturgy, and each team is always looking for singers and instrumentalists to join their musical group. Commitment is minimal (one rehearsal and Mass each week).

Simply approach the Undergraduate Music Minister at the particular Mass you wish to serve or contact Keara Parciak.

The Chapel Choir

For special University-wide occasions, a special choir is convened. If you would like to be part of this Chapel Choir, please contact Keara Parciak.
