Alumni and Friends Making an Impact

Catherine Sulecki ’17, ’18

These days, Catherine Sulecki ’17, ’18, is ensuring young children have access to reading. After graduating from UD with both her undergraduate degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, she got to work using her knowledge in state government. But like so many others, Sulecki felt the need to pivot following the pandemic. With a leap of faith, she ended up as marketing and communications director at Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio and hasn’t looked back.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides books for kids, newborn to 5 years old, around the country, and Sulecki heads up public awareness efforts for the group’s Ohio chapter. Since graduation, Sulecki has also spent countless hours volunteering and giving back to the UD community, through not just her involvement with the Columbus Alumni Community, but also by mentoring previous Statehouse Civic Scholar interns.

For Sulecki learning, leading and serving have been her beacon in the professional world, guiding her as she dealt with the stresses of her job, and giving her perspective when she needed it most.
