Experience Ireland with the Dublin Flyers Program!

By Tara McLoughlin

Have you ever dreamt of interning abroad, gaining hands-on experience in your field, and immersing yourself in a vibrant new culture? The Honors Program at UD is excited to announce the Dublin Flyers, an 8-week summer internship program located in the heart of Ireland's capital, Dublin. Open to all Honors students who are at least sophomores, this unique opportunity runs from the beginning of June through early August. Applications close November 8th, so now’s the time to learn more!

Why Dublin?

Interning in Dublin offers students the chance to work with international companies, gaining invaluable real-world experience. The program is an excellent way to learn what it’s like to work full-time in your desired field while living abroad. The best part? The Honors Program covers the cost of the internship placement and housing, with additional support provided by Learn International, a partner organization that helps facilitate cultural and professional development opportunities.

Cultural Immersion Meets Career Development

While your weekdays will be spent working in your internship, Dublin Flyers isn’t just about work. Learn International also arranges cultural experiences, so you can explore Ireland and its rich history and vibrant landscape. Plus, you'll have the freedom to travel around Europe on weekends, making this not only a career-building experience but a personal adventure as well.

No Classes, Just Real-World Experience

Unlike traditional study abroad programs, Dublin Flyers focuses solely on internships. The placements are arranged through Learn International and are tailored to each student’s career interests. This means that every Flyer’s experience is unique, giving you the chance to directly apply your skills in a professional environment.

Logistics and Costs

Honors covers the program fees, including housing, and provides a $1,500 stipend. You’ll be responsible for flights, meals, and other personal expenses. With Honors covering much of the cost, this is an affordable way to intern abroad without breaking the bank.

How to Apply

Applications are due November 8th, with interviews to follow. Students will be notified of their acceptance by Thanksgiving break. To apply, you must be a sophomore or above and returning to UD for at least one more semester.

Dublin Flyers is the perfect blend of professional development, cultural immersion, and global adventure. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity—reach out to the Honors office with any questions and start your application today!
