Humor Writer of the Month: Keri Janton

Keri Janton

A longtime admirer of writers like Erma Bombeck, Nora Ephron and Rick Bragg, Keri Janton writes about everyday life with humor and heart.

She’s written features for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 20 years and recently launched a weekly column, Souvenirs, on Substack that she hopes to eventually publish as a collection of essays. She’s also written two children’s books.

Janton’s work has been featured in a number of magazines, including Atlanta. Living Intown, Living Northside, Atlanta Parent, East Alabama Living and Newcomer.

She was born and raised in Georgia and earned a degree in journalism from Auburn University.  She married “a bonafide Yankee” in 2010, and together they share three beautiful boys. Their oldest son died in 2017, and they honor his memory through the Maximus Janton Foundation that assists special needs children and their parents.
