The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory until noon Saturday for wind chills as low as nine below zero. As cold weather persists, the University wants to remind our community about tips for protecting yourself, your residences and your property, plus dealing with winter weather. These will be posted on UD's emergency preparedness and response page, along with updates on weather alerts, event cancellations and building closures.

Christy Heitger-Ewing is an author, avid runner and animal lover with a passion for sharing stories that prompt laughter, healing and hope. Her newest book, Why Did I Walk into This Room? Finding the Humor When Perimenopause is Kicking Your Ass (Braughler Books), is a laugh-out-loud romp.

An award-winning writer from Indiana, she has published more than 3,000 magazine articles, contributed to 28 anthologies, including 18 in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Her first book, Cabin Glory: Amusing Tales of Time Spent at the Family Retreat, was the grand prize winner of a national non-fiction book writing competition, placed in the Inspiring the World Journalism Competition and was a finalist in the humor category for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

She has more than 7,000 pictures of her cats stored on her phone.
