101 True Tales from the Terminal

Who's Publishing What: 101 True Tales from the Terminal

Desiree Miller’s anthology, 101 True Tales from the Terminal: Wild Wacky & Wonderful Stories That’ll Take You Away (Braughler Books), was inspired by a social media post she wrote about her fun interactions in Atlanta’s airport as she awaited her flight to Dayton, Ohio, to the 2022 Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop. Eager to “find her funny,” she didn’t realize she’d have a plan for an entire book about funny stuff before the workshop even started.

“More than one friend told me there was a whole book in these fun interactions many of us seem to have while just going about our business at the airport,” she writes in the book. “Unless you’re the type to throw on earphones and go into your own zone, you’re bound to hear something that will make you laugh.”

From heartwarming reunions to chance encounters that change lives forever, 101 True Tales from the Terminal is a captivating collection of stories that celebrates the magic and wonder of air travel, where lives intersect for just a moment in time and destinies collide, for better or worse.

The book’s contributors include five writers from the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop community: John Branning, Rajean Blomquist, Karen Bucci, Ginger Claremohr and January Gordon Ornellas.

Miller is an award-winning writer with a passion for travel and storytelling. She plans travel retreats and hosts a weekly podcast called Time to Talk Travel.

My housekeeping standards could be characterized as super-clean but definitely short of psychotic. You would guess that the word “rat” never enters my vocabulary when speaking about my house or yard.
