Who's Publishing What: God is in the Odd, the Ordinary, and Outside Church

L.A. McMurray’s enticing new book, God is in the Odd, the Ordinary, and Outside Church (Braughler Publishing), explores more than meets the eye. A wildly determined Irish Catholic, McMurray pursues heaven’s playbook to ensure she and her family evade the heat of Hades.

After many unanswered questions and ongoing frustrations with narrow-minded religious laws and leadership, she discovered God beyond the sacred walls of the church. This is one person’s unique adventure from cradle Catholic to spiritual mystic.

McMurray’s storytelling is a gift inherited through multiple generations of Celtic kin. Although her high school English teachers did not appreciate her ancestral creative voice and unique grammar skills, there was one English professor who told her, “You should be a writer.” Those words had staying power whenever she took pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard.

She is an author, health promotions specialist and spiritual traveler. Her editorial on Doggy Yoga was published in The Bark Magazine, and a personal essay about her 104-year-old friend was published in The Cincinnati Enquirer. She has lived throughout Ohio, and currently lives in Cincinnati with her family and General Mills, a 100-pound Golden Pyrenees mix from Kentucky.
