Welcome to AI @ UD

By Doug Bishop

Welcome to AI @ UD - a new blog series from AI Application and Services in UDit highlighting what's new with FlyerGPT, the university's enterprise AI platform.

FlyerGPT is constantly evolving, with new capabilities added regularly. In this series, we'll keep the campus community up to date on the features that matter most to you, explain what's new and why it's useful, and share practical tips and tricks to help you get more out of FlyerGPT and other AI tools in your day-to-day work.

Here's a look at some of the recent updates to FlyerGPT.

More AI Models to Choose From

FlyerGPT's model lineup keeps growing, giving you more options to choose from directly in the ONEchat model selector.

Why it matters: Different models have different strengths — some are faster, some are better at long-form reasoning, some excel at code or creative writing. More choice means you can pick the right tool for the task.

Projects: Keep Related Work Organized

FlyerGPT now has Projects, a way to group related chats, files, and custom instructions into a single named workspace. Start a project once, add your files and context, and every chat inside that project automatically has that background already loaded: no re-uploading, no re-explaining.

Why it matters: If you're working on something that spans multiple conversations over days or weeks, for example, a research project, a course redesign, a long-term departmental initiative, Projects keep everything organized in one place instead of scattered across your chat history.

Collaborate on Shared Work

Shared Artifacts (documents, code, and other outputs FlyerGPT generates) now support comments and quick reactions, making it easier to collaborate on AI-generated content with your team.

Why it matters: This turns a shared FlyerGPT output into a genuine collaboration space, great for teams and committees reviewing a document together without spinning up a separate email thread.

Find Your Work Faster

Artifacts now have their own dedicated tab, showing everything you've created in FlyerGPT plus anything others have shared with you, all in one place, so there's no more hunting back through old conversations to find something FlyerGPT generated for you.

A More Accessible FlyerGPT

The platform has also seen a significant round of accessibility improvements, including better screen reader support, keyboard navigation, and clearer visual cues throughout the tool.

Why it matters: The University of Dayton is committed to accessible technology for every member of our community, and it's great to see FlyerGPT's platform provider actively investing in that same commitment.

Agents Releasing This Week: TDX Assistant Agent

Need help with a TeamDynamix (TDX) request but don't want to leave your conversation to submit it? The new TDX Assistant Agent is now available in FlyerGPT and is already connected to ONEchat, so there's nothing extra to set up. Just describe what you need right in ONEchat, in your own words, and FlyerGPT automatically calls in the TDX Assistant Agent to take care of it for you.

Why it matters: One more everyday task now lives inside the same conversation you're already having with FlyerGPT, so TDX Services help is as simple as just asking for it.

What's Next

This is just the beginning. Future posts in the AI @ UD series will keep you updated on new FlyerGPT capabilities as they roll out, and we'll also share practical tips and tricks to help you get the most out of AI tools on campus, from writing better prompts to building your own custom Agents. If there's something you'd like to see covered, let us know.
