Educational Specialist

After you've successfully completed a master's degree program, you may also earn an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership degree (Ed.S.). The Ed.S. program is designed to enhance your capabilities for educational leadership, and prepare you to work in a school district's central office.

Degree Information and Courses

The planned program of study requires a minimum of 33 semester hours of designated graduate work beyond the master's degree. The program may be completed either at the University of Dayton or at Wright State University.

Previous post-master's coursework may be transferred into the program if it supports the objectives of the overall program and is in accordance with the university transfer credit guidelines.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the University of Dayton's on-campus Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership (Ed.S.) program should submit the following information in addition to the online application:

  • Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student and unofficial copies are not acceptable.
  • Graduate degree required.
