Position Summary
Campus Ministry Graduate Assistants at the University of Dayton, a Catholic and Marianist Institution. Share your faith through relational ministry to college students while pursuing a Masters in Theology or Pastoral Ministry. Serve undergraduate students by journeying with them to cultivate faith, foster spiritual growth, and form Christian leaders through spiritual mentoring and discipleship, leading small groups, facilitating retreats, planning worship, coordinating service and justice initiatives, and more. Work alongside seasoned campus ministers and engage in holistic ministerial formation. Positions for the upcoming year will consist of unique portfolios that include a combination of the following: Residence Life Ministry, Retreats, Liturgy, Service and Justice, and Vocational Discernment ministries.
Breakdown of Time
- 40% Engage in direct ministry with students. This may include (but is not limited to) the following: form Christian leaders through spiritual mentoring and discipleship, leading small groups, facilitating retreats, planning worship, coordinating service and justice initiatives, and more.
- 40% Attend planning ministry opportunities, follow up from ministerial engagement, email, etc.
- 10% Be an active member of the UD Campus Ministry Team through participation in team meetings, large liturgies, and other Campus Ministry events.
- 10% Participate in GA formation and supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a full-time graduate student.
- Ability to articulate one’s own lived spiritual life and desire for spiritual growth in relationship to God/Jesus
- Experience as a leader or participation in ministry programs and activities

Position Summary
This assistantship is for the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community’s Dayton Civic Scholars Program in the College of Arts and Sciences, which supports the work of the mission and Practice Principles of the Center and provides significant professional development. The Student Programs and Support Position will support the student leadership program called Dayton Civic Scholars. Communication responsibilities include a leadership role in communication and the creation and posting of a regular electronic newsletter and social media. A leadership role around recruitment (ex. talking with First Year Experience Classes, promoting Fitz Center Programs, attending specific campus events) and support of FC campus partnerships/projects. A leadership role around student involvement metrics and, if appropriate, assessment activities and related grant preparation. Support includes mentoring students, co-leading weekly minicourses on Fridays 3:30 to 5:30, planning orientation, and more.

Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Research in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences provides critical support to tenure-track faculty with scholarly research. This part-time role is designed for a detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in the lifecycle of academic research, from initial literature reviews to data collection and manuscript preparation.
Breakdown of Time
- 70% Direct Research Support & Execution: The primary focus of this role is to provide high-level, "hands-on" assistance to support various stages of faculty research projects. Key activities can include: 1) Active Data Management: Coordinating human subject recruitment, overseeing data collection in laboratory or field settings, and ensuring meticulous data entry and cleaning using statistical software. 2) Scholarly Writing: Conducting comprehensive literature searches to identify gaps in current research and drafting technical sections (Methods, Results, and References) for peer-reviewed manuscripts. 3) Technical Support: Utilizing specialized tools and software (e.g., metabolic carts, motion analysis systems, SPSS, or R) to process raw data into actionable insights. 4) Presentation Preparation: Developing high-impact visual materials, including research posters and slide decks, to support faculty presentations at regional and national conferences.
- 10% Assist with other department-related activities as assigned by the Department Chair to support faculty engagement in research.
- 10% Assist in assessment & data collection implementation regarding student surveys and student data management. Including creating and managing surveys, assessing and mapping student needs/services.
- 10% Updating the department website or newsletter with recent faculty publications and awards to increase the visibility of HSS research.

Multi-Ethnic Education & Engagement Center

Position Summary
This assistantship is for the Multi-Ethnic Education & Engagement Center in the department of Student Development and supports the work of creating learning experiences for students and professional development opportunities offered to faculty and staff. The CIC GA position is funded by the Office of the Provost and is supervised by the Associate Director of Multicultural Education. The GA will support the work of the CIC core planning team, which includes representation from multiple departments. The GA assists with the CIC mini- course, including a conference experience, and offers logistics and planning support for a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives designed for students, faculty, and staff. The GA provides support for initiatives offered by the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center to further develop multicultural competence and a sense of belonging.
Breakdown of Time
- 50% “Creating Inclusive Community” Mini-Course & Conference planning, logistical management, recruitment and selection, assessment, and course attendance. This includes coordinating and leading advisory meetings, marketing of the course, managing the budget, coordinating group travel to a conference experience, assisting with teaching of the course, and compiling annual reports.
- 20% Support and assist in facilitating initiatives out of the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center that use Intergroup Dialogue, including Dialogue Zone facilitator training and complete requirements of the facilitator cohort (attendance or facilitation of 2-3 dialogues each semester). Present on social identities and systems of liberation and oppression to students, student organizations, or student workers upon request, as well as assist in the development of departmental programming related to this topic.
- 20% Contribute to the mission of the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center, including reporting any student needs, issues, and areas of concern to the MEC professional staff, serving on committees as assigned, maintaining office hours within the MEC space, managing MEC social media accounts, participating in pertinent campus events and programs throughout the year, as assigned, and attending and participating in department, division, and campus training sessions, as appropriate.
- 10% Other duties as assigned.
