University of Dayton graduates continue to find success after graduation, with 97% reporting being employed, pursuing a graduate degree or participating in a service program within six months of graduation.
UD's success rate has been at least 95% in nine of the last 10 years, with the outlier being 93% the COVID-19 year of 2019-20.
Other items of note from the survey of graduates from August and December 2024 and May 2025 include:

The average starting salary was reported at $61,279.

97% reported they are finding success in their chosen fields or in a job that's a first step toward a position in their field.

The success rates by school are 100% for the School of Education and Health Sciences, 99% for the School of Business Administration, 96% for the School of Engineering and 96% for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Top employers include GE Aerospace, EY, JPMorganChase and Honda.

The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Pittsburgh are among the top graduate schools accepting UD graduates.

845 unique employers hired UD graduates; students are attending 133 grad schools.

53% of the graduates who reported being employed found employment in Ohio while the others found opportunities in at least 35 states and eight countries.
"You can see in this video previewing the success of our May 2026 graduates that our students point to hands‑on learning opportunities like capstones and internships, close mentorship from professors and advisors who are part of their ‘flight crew,’ and career‑focused support as the reasons for their success," said Jason Eckert, executive director of UD Career Services and acting assistant provost for experiential learning. "All of this reflects our campus culture of personalized, experiential education that helps students translate classroom learning into career readiness."
