Does the perfect traveling companion exist? Flyers thought so. From oceanside gatherings to time‑worn trails and bustling cities, UD Magazine joined journeys shaped by friendship, family and place.
Peter J. Connelly ’22 brought UD Magazine along on a trip to Ireland with his girlfriend. Even with 35 mph wind gusts, the Cliffs of Moher made for a stunning day of exploring.
Micah Hung ’22 and his brother, Lucas Hung ’24, visited family in Taiwan and stopped for a photo outside the Presidential Office Building in Taipei under a clear December sky.
Stephen Levda ’79 and his wife, Becky, completed Camino de Santiago via the Portuguese Way with friends. They celebrated the journey with UD Magazine in the square before visiting the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Martha Turckes Lester ’80 and her sister‑in‑law, Deborah Anglin Turckes ’88, brought the magazine aboard the Viking Sky cruise ship while watching the America’s Cup finals in Barcelona, Spain, in October 2024.
Marie Romano Weisgerber ’69 and Dick Weisgerber ’70 shared UD Magazine at their family reunion in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, alongside fellow Flyers Gerry Weisgerber ’76 and Marilyn Weisgerber Massey ’72.
Former housemates of 101 Lawnview — Tracy Drufke Goldkamp ’99, Erin Dougherty Shank ’99, Lesley Dotson Hollis ’99, Kelsey McCourt Madges ’99, Julie Jeakle ’99 and Cindy Phipps Sarinyamas ’99 — reunited in St. Louis to mark 30 years of friendship.
Pete Roccaforte ’02, Dave Zlatic ’02 and RJ Sontag ’02 cycled through the North Shore Century, a 100‑mile bike ride through Chicago’s northern suburbs and southeast Wisconsin, with Zlatic wearing his love for UD over his heart.

Maggie Krouse Leutzinger ’75 and her husband, Skip, celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary with a breathtaking trip through South Africa’s Cape Peninsula before heading out on safari.
Jim Sachs ’69 and his wife, Linda, visited the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland last May and made sure the magazine joined them alongside the iconic fairways.

Friends since high school, Annette Fries Royce ’87 and Moira Donovan Baker ’89 celebrated the 2025 Christmas season in Paris and brought UD Magazine with them through the City of Lights.
