In the heart of the student neighborhood, across from Art Street Café, sits 110 Lawnview Ave. — home to the UD chapter of music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha, the Sinfonia Fraternity of America. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom house is home to six fraternity brothers. Some are involved in the Pride of Dayton Marching Band, and others are active in other musical endeavors on campus. The house is filled with many signs and objects on the walls, including a few oddities — like a deflated football. Additionally, the house has an entire wall filled with paddles from fraternity members past and present.
There is a symphony of sounds that fills the home as well, with the fraternity brothers always on the move for a meeting, class or other activity on campus. But when they have time for themselves, they gather together for informal conversations or sing their hearts out on karaoke nights. They frequently have other chapter members over and enjoy having many other Flyers in the neighborhood stop by for a visit. For a house that stays busy, the brothers live in perfect harmony.
