The Ukrainian Way of the Cross: Wartime Watercolors by Danylo Movchan

Feb. 9–June 12, 2027, Marian Library Gallery

Ukrainian iconographer Danylo Movchan turned to watercolor as a means of immediate and emotional expression during wartime. This exhibit features over 20 of his paintings, on loan from John A. Kohan’s Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection.

Carl Dixon: Witness in Wood

Feb. 9–June 12, 2027, Rose Gallery

Self-taught artist Carl Dixon uses richly detailed bas-relief wood carvings to interpret biblical stories with touches of whimsy, pop-culture references and connections to social justice movements. Dixon's work is on loan from John A. Kohan’s Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection.

Stuart and Mimi Rose Gallery

the entrance of the Rose GalleryLocated off the first-floor lobby of Roesch Library, the University of Dayton has used this gallery to connect artwork and literature to conversation and reflection around philosophy, the sciences, society, religion, spirituality and justice. 

Established in 2021, the Stuart and Mimi Rose Gallery hosts several exhibits each year. The campus and wider community come together to engage with topics such as book arts, campus history, the Nativity story, Marian paintings and more. This important space recognizes Stuart and Mimi Rose’s long-standing investment in the University, the Libraries and the greater Dayton community.
