The University of Dayton announced April Mescher executive director of the Center for Leadership June 9, 2026. She previously served as the center's senior director of strategic partnerships and marketing.
Mescher has nearly a decade of leadership experience with the center. She has played a pivotal role in expanding strategic partnerships, strengthening the center's market presence, growing professional development offerings, and advancing the center's mission of developing leaders who create positive impact in their organizations and communities.
"April has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Center for Leadership, our partners and the University of Dayton," said Paul Haught, vice provost for faculty, graduate and professional education. "Her vision, relationship-centered leadership style, and deep understanding of the evolving needs of organizations position her exceptionally well to lead the center into its next chapter."
Under Mescher's leadership, the center will continue its focus on delivering innovative leadership development solutions, fostering organizational growth, and strengthening the connection between leadership excellence and organizational performance. The center serves thousands of leaders annually through certificate programs, executive development experiences, customized organizational solutions, and strategic partnerships throughout the region and beyond.
Mescher's career reflects a commitment to developing others, building meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities for individuals and organizations to thrive.
In addition to her work at the University of Dayton, she is recognized for her community leadership and service throughout the Dayton region. She recently was honored by the Dayton Business Journal as one of its 2026 "Women Who Mean Business" for demonstrating exceptional leadership, professional achievement and a strong commitment to the Dayton community.
Mescher also was named a "Women to Watch" by Dayton WiBN in 2011, honored as the "Advocate of the Year" by Generation Dayton in 2010, and recognized as one of the "Top 40 Under 40" by the Dayton Business Journal in 2009.
