College is a time of academic growth, but learning extends far beyond the classroom and flourishes when students are supported in their success. As they pursue their majors, students also grow personally, socially and globally through experiences that shape how they understand and engage with the world. The University of Dayton fosters this development through immersion programs abroad and away, campus organizations and other opportunities that build global perspective and deepen awareness of the world’s interconnectedness. Just as important are the faculty, staff and campus partners who support students day to day—through advising, campus employment, mentorship and personal guidance—while also designing courses, coordinating programs and sustaining partnerships that help them thrive and achieve on a global scale.
The Global Excellence Reception, hosted by the GIA Center, recognizes faculty and staff from 2024-2025 whose dedication, creativity and collaboration contributed to greater intercultural and global engagement, whether on campus or beyond.
The nomination categories recognize work in leading faculty-led programs, teaching Collaborative Online International Learning courses, hosting or supporting visiting scholars, advancing global student support, sustaining and developing international partnerships, and contributing to global research and pedagogical innovation.
Congratulations to our 2024-2025 Global Champions:
