Why did you decide to earn a J.D.?
At first, I wanted to practice law at a small firm. But during my 2L year, I realized I wanted to be an academic.
What was your experience like at UDSL?
Fantastic. I built relationships with my professors that last to this day.
How has the J.D. helped with your career and what are you doing now?
I clerked for a federal judge for one year and then began teaching at Marquette. I’m working on a book right now, and I think my J.D. has been indispensable to that endeavor.
What advice would you give a future lawyer?
I wouldn’t have the opportunities I have now without hard work and networking. If you do the work, your network notices.
