Lindsay Girardin will be the University of Dayton’s next vice president for facilities management and planning and auxiliary services, succeeding Rick Krysiak. Girardin will assume her new role on Monday, Oct. 19.

Girardin currently serves as UD’s associate vice president for auxiliary services and supply chain management, leading dining services, retail services, parking services, and procurement & payable services. In her new role, she will continue overseeing auxiliary services while assuming responsibility for facilities management, planning, construction management, residential properties, and maintenance and operations.

“Lindsay represents the very best of the University of Dayton — talented, dedicated, mission-oriented and committed to serving our community,” said President Eric F. Spina. “Her broad experience, team approach and understanding of our mission make her exceptionally well prepared to lead this vital division as we continue investing strategically in our campus and advancing the University’s priorities.”

A proven leader with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education facilities, auxiliary services and capital planning, Girardin has spent most of her career at UD while also gaining valuable executive leadership experience outside the institution.

She first joined the University in 2007 as a furniture and signage specialist in the Department of Facilities Management before advancing through project management and administrative roles.  After serving as assistant vice president for facilities and auxiliary services at Claremont Graduate University in California, where she led major capital initiatives and operational units, she returned to UD to take on expanding senior leadership portfolios prior to her current associate vice president role.

“UD is a unique community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as a vice president,” Girardin said. “I look forward to building on Rick’s success, strengthening relationships across campus and serving as a partner as we advance the campus master plan and major projects such as the School of Business Administration building and the semiconductor lab in Fitz Hall as part of our partnership with IBM.”

Girardin’s experience includes managing major campus renovations, leading the relocation of the School of Education from Chaminade Hall to Fitz Hall and playing a key role in laying the foundation of the redevelopment of the former Montgomery County Fairgrounds, now known as onMain. She also led the development of a five-year capital renewal plan for high-density student housing, which delivered comprehensive renovations to East Stewart Gardens, South Quad Gardens and Virginia W. Kettering (VWK) Residence Hall.

“Lindsay’s rapid career progression has led to this well-deserved promotion and I am thrilled to appoint her to this high-impact, visible leadership position,” said Andy Horner, executive vice president for business and administrative services. “She has extensive experience in every area of this division portfolio, and her strong relationships across campus and our ongoing projects will help ensure continuity, momentum and a seamless leadership transition.”

Girardin earned her associate’s degree from Sinclair before becoming a three-time UD graduate, earning a bachelor’s, a master’s in communication, and an MBA. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education in leadership for organizations which she expects to complete in May 2028. She is a Certified Educational Facilities Professional, LEED Green Associate and NCIDQ-certified designer.

In her new role, Girardin will join executive leadership on the president’s council and cabinet.
