The Pride of Dayton Marching Band arrived in London in June for London Band Week, marking its first international performance since marching in Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade three years ago. The week culminated in a standout show at Hampton Court Palace, where the band played with the energy and camaraderie of “our classic tailgate before football games,” said Maggie Endres ’26, UD Magazine student photographer and POD member, “but focused on the beautiful location we were in and the love of music the thousands of people shared.” The performance ended with a thrilling drumline battle, where UD’s gritty, high-energy drumline earned runner-up honors — and the roar of crowd approval. “I will hold in my heart forever the adventures I had with my fellow Flyers exploring the great city of London,” Endres said. “This has truly been a memory of UD that I will have in my mind for many years to come.”
