On a quintessential fall football Saturday, during the Dayton football game against Presbyterian, the Pride of Dayton Marching Band had their annual celebration of Bandcoming.
This celebration features intergenerational alumni members of the beloved marching band to return for a game and perform as one whole sound once more. The alumni members added to the field of 156 members — making 141 more members able to play audience favorites in the pregame as well as a few songs during halftime.
A few songs included "In the Stone", the National Anthem, the school fight song, the Alma Mater, "Crazy Train" and "I Get Around."
The oldest member who participated graduated in the 1960s and the youngest member is in their first year at UD. The audience felt the connection and community the band is known for.
