Twists, turns, layers — perhaps my work is a look into the [slightly] organized chaos of my mind. And maybe its an attempt to better organize my mind through a combination of tantalizing color and the slow, solitary process of artmaking itself — a passionate introvert’s unwinding, if you will.
Showcasing an obsession over curiosity and problem solving, puzzle-making and discovery, my process often begins by creating a sculpture made from paper or masking tape, photographing it with colored lights, cutting the photos up and collaging them back together. These playful experimentations make way for observation and color theory as the final painting is made.
Ultimately, for me, the final artwork is a reflection on finding positivity, beauty and astonishment every day.
