1 – Father Joshua Peters ’01, S.J., and Cecilia Moore, professor of religious studies, stopped to read UD Magazine at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans this July where Peters earned his master’s degree in theology.
2 – Willy Balbach ’10 and Jen Cheney Balbach ’11 celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in September by going to Kauai, Hawaii, bringing UD Magazine to Waimea Canyon where the views, hiking trails and articles were spectacular.
3 – Loretta Rebeta Hubley ’72 wanted to find the perfect spot to see beautiful coral reefs, and she found it with her daughters — and UD Magazine — in Raja Ampat, Indonesia.
4 – Alumni and their spouses — Anne Athmer ’82, Chris Athmer ’84, Ruth Girouard ’82, Dave Girouard ’82, Brian Girouard ’84 with his wife, Lynda, and Phil Chick ’82 with his wife, Claire — visited Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Canada.
5 – Ann Marie Mazzucco ’73 took UD Magazine along for the ride (or dive) of a lifetime as she went skydiving high above Interlaken, Switzerland.
6 – Chris Varga ’79 hosted former housemate Tim “Bones” Sharkey ’81 for a Los Angeles tour of Laurel Canyon, the Hollywood Sign and a night at the Hollywood Bowl to see Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. He said, “It was a rock ’n’ roll visit.”
7 – After years of jealously sorting through hundreds of travel photos for the “Where Are You Reading?” section of UD Magazine, managing editor Nicole L. Craw was excited to finally take her own photo on a trip with her husband, Stefan, to the Colosseum in Rome. Alas, she forgot her copy on her desk.
8 – Phil Cenedella ’84, Carly Cenedella Hall ’12, Andrew Hall ’11 and future Flyer Cora enjoyed reading UD Magazine on the beach in San Diego.
